WHAT DO WE DO?

We perform inspirational choral programs of the great hymns of faith and seasonal themes for the residents of local area nursing homes, providing comfort and support in an informal presentation style.

WHEN?

The choir prepares and performs programs throughout the year.  Typically each program requires four consecutive weeks of practice followed by two Sunday afternoon performances at the nursing homes, for a total of six weeks. Each program is independent of the other, providing schedule flexibility for choir members. schedule

HOW DID THE SCRIPPS RANCH GOSPEL CHOIR GET STARTED?

In the fall of 2002, some Scripps Ranchers began gathering to sing arrangements of favorite hymns. Soon, amid the fun and developing camaraderie, a common desire began to emerge. We wanted to take these hymns to those confined in nursing homes, who no longer have the opportunity to sing or hear them. Since then the Scripps Ranch Gospel Choir has become a thriving ministry to the elderly. The choir is open to all singers who have a heart for encouraging people approaching the end of life's journey. We hold four rehearsals on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm for each set of performances. The performances take place in four area nursing homes typically on two consecutive Sunday afternoons (1:45 - 4:15 pm).
